A Message From Mrs. Bosshart
Dear ERMA Families,
My name is Marilee Bosshart, and I am ecstatic to be joining the Eagle Rock Multi-Age Program as your new principal! Riverview is such a special place for me as I am a former student of the district and proud graduate of Cedarcrest High School. I also began my career teaching Social Studies at CHS. I truly feel honored to have the opportunity to serve the district community that has done so much to support me. I wanted to share a little about me both personally and
professionally as well as my priorities for the 2022-23 school year.
This is my 18th year in education. After teaching at CHS for six years and completing my administrative internship, I spent my first year as a school administrator at Orting Middle School in the Orting School District. I was then hired as an assistant principal at Beaver Lake Middle School in the Issaquah School District where I spent nine years of my career. This last year helped open a brand-new school, Cougar Mountain Middle School in Issaquah. Additionally, over the summer I took on the role of principal for the summer school program at Cedar Trails Elementary also in Issaquah.
I am thrilled to begin the next phase of my career as I become a building principal so close to home. I live in Carnation with my husband David and together we are raising our 5-year-old daughter Sophie who will start Kindergarten this fall in the district. We also have a little Yorkie named Divot which fits since golf is our favorite hobby. We are also big sports fans and enjoy rooting on game day for the Seahawks, Huskies and Mariners. We are truly fortunate to live close to our families and enjoy many barbecues and gatherings.
My experiences in education have been so rewarding and have shaped my leadership philosophy and style. My goal is for all students, staff and families to be seen, heard and valued. I believe that if all staff commit to excellence this will lead to positive outcomes for students. I am a collaborative leader and place a high value on relationships and communication. As your new principal, I want to ensure high levels of academic success for every student and support a
positive climate where all students, staff and families feel safe, respected and included in our learning community.
I am eager to meet all the ERMA families and feel fortunate to be part of such an incredible school community. I have developed a plan to assist me in my transition to ERMA. I want to focus my energy these first few months to develop relationships with all staff, students, their families and the community. By fostering these relationships and listening and learning from everyone, it is my hope to maintain continuity during this time of transition and work to become an integral part of the school culture.
Please rest assured that the important work of Riverview Schools will continue along with the value placed on parent collaboration in the education of all ERMA students. I look forward to providing opportunities to meet with families in the coming weeks so that I can begin to get to know our community and you can get to know me.
I am ecstatic to be your new principal and cannot wait to start the 2022-23 school year together! I look forward to the opportunity to connect with all our ERMA students and families at the Back to School Social hosted by PTSA on August 31, 2022 from 5-7 p.m.
Sincerely,
Marilee Bosshart
The Scholastic Book Fair is Back!
ERMA will host an in-person book fair December 6-10. We will also offer an online shopping experience that you can share with family and friends, just in time for holiday gift giving! The book fair relies on volunteers to help set-up and pack up the fair, as well as during the week to help students browse and purchase books. If you think you’ll be able to help, add your name to the list and our volunteer coordinator will be in touch!
More details coming soon.

Staff Appreciation Week

This week is to celebrate the staff at ERMA for working SO hard to make our students successful, safe, and feel loved!
When I think of how hard the staff has worked to make this year the best it could be: Holidays Around the World, polar express with hot chocolate, movie and popcorn, GOING TO SCHOOL 4 FULL DAYS A WEEK, knowing each child in the school on a personal level (not just the kids in their class), several assemblies, family groups, and making this year work. Our kids will always remember this year and us parents will remember how remarkable the teachers are for their endless effort.
Let’s say thank you to our staff with these fun ideas. This is not mandatory, just fun and creative way to let them know we care.
Monday, May 3
Make a thank you card, draw a picture, write a poe, etc., to a staff member. Let them know how important they are!
ERMA PTA will provide Grateful Bread pastries for the ERMA staff room in the morning!
Tuesday, May 4
Who doesn’t love a special treat? Bring something sweet or healthy for them to nibble on. See the Staff Favorites sheet that was emailed out for ideas!
Wednesday, May 5
Give them a compliment from your heart over Zoom.
Red Pepper Pizza is donating a pizza lunch to ERMA staff that will be delivered by the owner to the school!
Thursday, May 6
Bring a staff member a flower. This could be real or one you have drawn. They will love their bouquet!
Friday, May 7
Free choice! What is something that you know your teacher, principal, special staff member, or specialist would like?
ERMA PTA will provide Top Pot doughnuts for the ERMA staff room in the morning!

Online Book Fair
Online Book Fair starts Monday, November 23rd and runs through December 6th!
Even though we can’t be at school together, we can have an online book fair! Get started at www.scholastic.com/bf/erma to find new books, favorite characters, complete series, and more! You’ll love the new option to shop for Book Fair exclusives directly from the interactive booklist and enjoy free shipping to your home on book-only purchases over $25.
This is a great time to stock up on books for holiday gifts! ERMA is the only local school to be holding a book fair this Fall/Winter, so please share the shopping link with your friends and family – near and far – anyone can shop the book fair and support our school!
Curious what you can find at the online book fair? Be sure to check out the virtual fair where you and your kids will experience virtual book cases, characters, book trailers and curated reading lists.
The virtual fair will go live on Monday at www.scholastic.com/bf/erma!
Our goal is to sell at least 125 books during this fair which would earn ERMA nearly 50 free books for the library and classrooms!
